Description
The Nicaragua Selva Negra is honey processed and provides a floral and fruity aroma at lighter roasts and a smooth medium roast. Holds up for darker roast as well.
The pulp of the coffee cherry is left on during the drying process which looks like honey. Since the fruit is allowed to stay with seed and decay naturally some of the sugars bring out a more fruity aroma when grinding and brewing. Often the aftertaste will have a bit of these qualities.
It also comes from the Selva Negra Coffee Estate in Nicaragua which is family owned and ran.
